Chrissy's Magnificent Modifications
Row 1: Instead of ch 47, sc foundation chain 46, chl turn and start row 2
To adjust for size: chain or foundation chain as many stitches as needed to get from under one armpit to the other.
Follow Cheyenne's siren top pattern through row 14. At the end of row 2, dc 1 in last 2 st.
Modification: At the end of each row, dc2 in space between previous dc2 (counting the ch3 in previous row as a dc) (this makes the edge straighter and will also throw off the gc count)
At the end of row 14, count the spaces between your gc’s and put a stitch marker halfway between the middle corner and the edge of the work, then slip stitch the sides together and start working in the round.
To start working in the round, ch 3 (counts as dc), then dc 2 into the slip stitch. This creates a new gc. Continue working gcs in each spot between the previous rows gcs).
Row 15: same as in Cheyenne's pattern but in the round. Put a gc, ch 1 gc in each spot
Row 15: same as in Cheyenne's pattern but in the round. Put a gc, ch 1 gc in each spot with a stitch marker to form 2 additional
corners.
Rounds 16-20: continue pattern except in the round instead of rows.
Now count the spaces between gcs between each corner and the middle of the back and place stitch markers halfway between. If there is a go right in the middle of the back between the 2 corners, put a stitch marker in the middle de and plan to add a corner there in round 22. If there is not a go half ways between on the back, go ahead and put a corner there in round 21 (gc, ch1, gc)
Round 21: work a gc in each space between gcs in previous round but *(gc, ch1, gc) in the spaces marked with stitch markers and the already established corners.
Rounds 22-26: gc in each space between gcs in previous round, (gc, ch 1, gc) in each established corner
Round 27: look at the center corner. Place a stitch marker halfway between it and the corner next to it on both sides. Gc as usual Notes
Round 27: look at the center corner. Place a stitch marker halfway between it and the corner next to it on both sides. Gc as usual between gcs , when you get to the stitch marker: gc, ch1, gc. Continue.
Rounds 28-30: gg between each gg. Gc, ch1 gc in each established corner.
Lace-up straps: make 2 chains of 200.
Attach them to the back near where the 2 sides were connected in the round. Lace them up however you'd like, make an x-shape across the back of the neck and pull the straps in front. Loop through the front of the top, and tie around back of neck.
Optional neckline: on either side of the middle stitch, count as many gcs as desired to get to right before your shoulder. Start the yarn at the top of one gc.
Row 1: ch 3 and 1 dc in 1st st, gc in each gc.
Row 2: ch 3, gc between each go until last space, 2 dc in last space.
Row 3: ch 3, 2 dc in next sp, de between last ge and ch 3 in previous row
Repeat row 3 until you have only 3 spaces between gcs and dc 2.
Row 4: ch 3, dc 2 in next space, gc in next, dc 2 in next, dc between gc and ch 3 in previous row.
Row 5: ch 3, ge between de 2 and gc spaces, dc in space between 2 dc and ch 3 in previous row
Row 6: ch 3, v-stitch (dc, ch 1, dc) between the gcs, ch 3, slip stitch between go and do in previous row.
Fasten off. Weave in ends. Use the ch space between the v-stitches to attach your straps.
Mesh stitch around the whole neckline.
Weave in ends.
